Behind The Boutique

Hi! I'm Ashley, the owner of Vintage Vibes Boutique. If you had asked me in high school what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would have told you I was moving to New York City to become a fashion designer. Life took me on a slightly different path. Instead, I earned a business degree with a concentration in accounting. Looking back, it turned out to be the perfect combination—my love for fashion paired with the knowledge to build a business around it. Fashion has always been more than just clothes to me. I've always been drawn to unique pieces that no one else is wearing and finding unexpected ways to style them together. I love mixing textures, colors, and silhouettes to create outfits that feel effortless, personal, and completely one of a kind. If I have a superpower, it's helping people see possibilities in pieces they might never have picked for themselves.

I've always loved unique pieces, but what I love even more is styling them. Pairing things together that shouldn't work—but somehow absolutely do—is kind of my thing. If there's a hidden gem hanging on the rack, I will find it. If there's an outfit you would've walked right past, I'm probably going to convince you to try it on anyway. (Trust me on this one.) That's exactly how Vintage Vibes Boutique came to life. The name came from my original vision of carrying both new and vintage clothing. There's something special about pairing a modern piece with a vintage treasure to create a look that no one else has. Not only does it make your wardrobe feel more personal, but giving clothing a second life is also a small way to shop more sustainably. While the boutique has evolved over the years, that love for individuality still influences every piece I bring into the store.

While the boutique has evolved over the years, my mission hasn't changed. I carefully curate every collection with one goal in mind: helping women find pieces that make them feel confident, comfortable, and completely themselves. I don't buy hundreds of the same item because I love that when you find something here, it feels special. When it's gone...it's gone. I want you to own pieces that don't show up at every graduation party, wedding shower, or girls' night out.

One of my favorite things about owning the boutique happens in the dressing room. You know that moment when you say, "Oh, I could never wear that," and then five minutes later you're staring in the mirror wondering why you've never dressed like this before? That's my favorite part. There's nothing better than watching someone's entire posture change because they finally see themselves the way everyone else already does. People absolutely glow when they feel good in what they're wearing, and getting to be a small part of that never gets old. I also want Vintage Vibes to feel different from the moment you walk through the door. No hovering. No pressure. No pretending everything looks amazing when it doesn't. Just honest styling advice, lots of laughs, and hopefully leaving with a few new favorites (and maybe a few things you never would've picked for yourself).

Outside of the boutique, my biggest pride and joy is my rescue dog, Rocky. I adopted him five years ago, and if you ask me about him, just know you've probably committed to looking at at least 47 pictures. Animals have always had a huge place in my heart, and one of my biggest dreams is to donate a portion of Vintage Vibes Boutique's profits to animal rescue organizations as the business continues to grow.

Before opening the boutique, I bartended for 17 years while putting myself through school. These days, I'm proudly sober, and it's one of the accomplishments I'm most grateful for. That chapter taught me resilience, a lot about myself, how to connect with people from every walk of life, and that everyone has a story worth listening to. For a few years, I called Charlotte, North Carolina home, and I'd love nothing more than to open a second Vintage Vibes Boutique somewhere down South someday. Consider that my "putting it out into the universe" moment.  At the end of the day, Vintage Vibes Boutique isn't really about clothes. It's about confidence. It's about helping you discover a style that feels like you instead of trying to dress like everyone else on your Instagram feed. It's about finding pieces you'll reach for over and over because they make you feel amazing.

So whether you've been shopping with me since day one or you're just discovering Vintage Vibes Boutique today, thank you for being here.

Supporting a small business means you're supporting a dream that started with a teenager who wanted to design clothes in New York City and somehow ended up building a boutique in her own hometown. I truly believe confidence is one of the best things a woman can wear. If I can help you find that one outfit that makes you stand a little taller, smile a little bigger, and feel completely like yourself, then I've done exactly what I set out to do. Welcome to Vintage Vibes Boutique. I can't wait to help you find something as unique as you are.
